FANTASTIC work! I've never been a landscape photographer, but have always like GOOD landscapes, and really like yours :-). It makes me wonder if there is anything to this "genetic memory" thing.... I hope you don't mind if I add a link to your site from mine... Drop me an email and I'll send you a link to your link (and the 2 line review)... Andy replies: Many thanks for your kind words, Christopher. I have, from time to time, experienced genetic memory on my travels, particularly on the Isle of Mull where my mother was born and brought up - an unusual feeling of inexplicable familiarity in places that I have visited for the first time. As a landscape lover, you must come to Scotland. The west coast of Harris in the final hour of sunshine with wild Atlantic waves crashing over the golden sands will stay in your memory forever. Make it soon. This year, in fact!!

Hi Andy hope you and the family are all well. Your photography has inspired me to finally bite the bullet and buy myself an SLR and go take some pictures of our great country!! Oh and Rangers aint doing too badly now either Andy replies: Brilliant, Colin. Your dad is the perfect companion for your photographic trips. He managed to arrange perfect light for my shot across the Golden Road on Harris! Please send me the fruits of your travels. A wee tip to get your started - when you find your special place, try to capture the last hour of sunlight, low and golden, and the first hour of the following day, also low but different colour (temperature). The quality & direction of light is everything. Get the tent out!! Good luck!!

Hi Andy, It's Friday evening in Kuala Lumpur and a time to think about back home. We are just taking a look at both volumes of your books and again realise how wonderful and inspirational they are. Looking forward to the next project. Andy replies: Hi Dave - Nice to hear from you but a long way from Kent! The books distil the feeling of longing for and belonging to Scotland, in your case Orkney. Imagine yourself at the top of Wideford Hill watching the sunset behind Finstown as you pour yourself another single malt! All the best, Andy
